Message I used to work in the autobody industry and had a black 2+2 repainted and have to say wow your car looks incredible!

the non painted parts of the car look fantastic, they certainly saved you some money not painting the whole car, plus keeping as much of the paint original is always best, the factory paint doesnt get stone chips nearly as easy as a repaint no matter who paints it or what brand of paint they use

black is the hardest to keep clean and swirl free but it is the easiest colour to match, they dont really have to match the colour at all if its not a pearl, one of the only pluses with black besides looking great.

and unlike reds or silvers that can show colour differences much more easily with red being the worst for fading. a point of interest is that the human eye can pick up around thrity thousand shades of yellow. more than any other colour.

hopefully your car is in storage for the winter so you can avoid doing anything to the paint especially waxing for two to three months. rinsing is okay but waxing can leave swirl marks in newly painted surfaces.

after two to three months after the paint has fully cured you may notice solvent pops in the paint and may need to have a polish to smooth out the finish this is normal, although most places wont tell you that you may need this polishing later. after that feel free to wax away with high quality wax

enjoy, look forward to more pics

:Well after a long wait, I was finally able to get my TT bumper and Stillen body parts installed and parts of my car repainted. The bodyshop told me that since most of the paint was in excellent condition, I wouldn't have to repaint the whole car. This was my first experience with a bodyshop and I was skeptical and concerned that the paint would not match exactly. Well, I can't tell you how pleased I am with the results, I still can't believe that they were able to match the paint so perfectly. I had the front cap, rear bumper, rear brake finisher, mirrors, one T-Top and the T-bar repainted. Once the weather improves, I'll try to post better pictures.
